ThingsCrafted-Grand-Opening-Blog-Hop

Thanks for joining us today! This is the first stop on the ThingsCrafted blog hop, and here’s the list of participants just in case you get lost along the way or want to click around. :)

blog hop order:

I do have a project to share with you, but I want to make sure you know a few of things first:

1. Be sure to leave a comment (and include your email either in the comment form or the comment itself) at each blog for a chance to win a custom stamp. We’ll be giving away one at each blog stop – that’s nine chances to win!

2. A grand opening just wouldn’t be a grand opening without a sale, so please enjoy the hop and 15% off your purchase with the code GRAND15OFF.

3. You have until the end of Tuesday, November 25th to leave comments for the giveaways and to take advantage of the coupon code. And don’t worry – if you order a custom stamp (an XS, S or M-sized one) during the sale and end up winning at one of the blog hop stops, you can choose to get a refund for your custom stamp and use it as your prize instead. :)

my card:

Since most of the hop today will be showing you a custom stamp as well as a hand-designed (pre-designed) stamp available from the store, I wanted to show you one of my favorite things to do with custom stamps – design a holiday card for mass-producing. Think about it: instead of spending the time on and money on all of the embellishments, pieces and photos involved with a traditional handmade card (or even just the cost of a normal photo card), you can spend a much shorter amount of time coming up with an idea for a message, stamping it onto some cardstock, adding an embellishment or two and then printing off a message to go on the inside. It’s personal, handmade and still pretty quick and easy to execute.

Here, I used the Merry Christmas hand-designed stamp and embossed it onto some red cardstock with Princess Gold Embossing Powder.

To keep the card simple but add a bit more dimension, I added some metallic gold hemp baker’s twine and rounded the corners on the bottom. This very well could be my design for my own holiday cards this year. You could simplify this even further by stamping in a color on white cardstock to cut down on the embossing, but I have to admit that the gold gives the card quite a special feeling.
